Robert Clay Vineyards - Media Kit

"Great wines come from those that have mastered the skill of patience."

- Dan McLaughlin

Robert Clay Vineyards is a family-owned Estate Winery that began its journey in 1996 when Paul and Nancy Buist planted the first vines. The vineyard's name honors their two sons, Robert and Clay. In 2012, Dan and Jeanie McLaughlin took over the reins of the vineyard with a desire to fulfill Dan's childhood dream of becoming a farmer and leaving a lasting legacy for their future generations.

Under Dan's guidance, Robert Clay Vineyards has embarked on an exciting journey of learning and discovery, establishing Dan as a "True Texas Vigneron" with his passion and intuition.

Our winemaking philosophy is rooted in a deep commitment to quality. We take a meticulous approach to vineyard management, ensuring that every detail is given due attention. We also believe in minimal intervention winemaking, which helps us to create wines that are authentic and full of character. We are dedicated to producing wines that showcase the unique terroir of Texas and offer a truly exceptional wine tasting experience.

Damn it Dan, this wine is good!

Robert Clay captures the essence of the vineyard in a glass. The 2015 Merlot expresses ripe red fruit, but is not overly fruit forward. The fresh acidity, fleshy fruit notes and integrated oak pay homage to both new and old world wine styles. A walk through the vineyard will reveal a great attention to vine balance.
